Moroccan Dream

I am into the 5th year living in the Kingdom of Morocco
Sometimes I asked the question why?
the only answer that i can give is that although the difficulties and frustrations are numerous on a daily basis

I am in the right place for me and that I am living my dream

The story starts 6 years ago I was sleeping soundly in my comfortable bed in a country that I could communicate with in my mother tongue had a good job my husband had good a job my son was at college choosing not to learn a lot but that's a whole new story and life was ok
but when I awoke on a bright crisp morning I sat and reflected on the dream that had left me feeling excited but exhausted

LIGHTING THE SAHARA IN SOLAR ENERGY is not a easy job hence the exhaustion

I woke up my husband and son and told them to pack we are off to Morocco to light the Sahara with Solar this was meet with a stunned silence by both of them, staring at me with a blank look muttering phases like you are kidding, no way, where is your head, what on earth are you thinking this are to just name a few

Then as they realised that I was serious there were sounds of raucous laughter and back to the stunned silence

Ok I had a lot of work to do to achieve the dream first to convince these two and then Morocco Government that Solar was indeed the energy of the day

so here my story really begins
Over the next month the two doubters got behind me we sold everything that was precious to us

as we only had the 20kg of luggage each to carry o and the nearly 20kg in each of our hand luggage decisions had to made what was the most important items to take

Photos for me
Sub woofer for my son (The most important item for a 15 year old)
and well nothing really for my husband

A few precious items are yes they are still in a friends garage thank you Pena and Geoff

I Contactied Moroccan Administrations to make sure that we had all the correct information about reallocation and the business structures in Morocco. this was very fruitful so I thought.
Mountains of official papers were emailed, even phone calls from the foreign investment fellow Marwane Mansouri all was looking good and I was laughing to myself that all the doubters were wrong, I had done all the homework so the move and the business would be relatively easy.

So 26th May 2006 we set off to the airport first stop Melbourne to stay with a friend for a few days then we are off to the Kingdom of Morocco

Trip was eventful son chucked all the way but we could eat his food which was a bonus hahaha

Arrived in Casablanca driving from the airport my son saw the advertising and thought o this is a ok country they have mobile phones and TVs a good start

We decided on Tangier as the first port of call close to Europe but yet still Moroccan

be careful what you dream
to be continued
